the culture shock thing just sort of emerged as i was writing it; it wasn't something i'd contemplated particularly, before this, until i realized that john was going to spend a weekend surrounded by thousands and thousands of noisy, strange people -- and he's not used to that. i'm so glad that part worked for you, because i wasn't sure i pulled it off; thank you so much. :)

I'm in the wrong country and I don't get back until April first, so on one hand I am gleeful and so grateful to have the tournament brought to me like this, with the build-up and the bad food and t-shirt suffocation and the tasty tasty colonels (including your Wisconsinphile Carter), and on the other I'm going to go and weep in the corner now because of the utter lack of decent college ball watching venues in London, but for a moment I was right there.

I love the reference to John enjoying the anonymity he has on Earth, even as the sheer numbers freak him out. And everything Cameron Mitchell does.
