my first great love, back in high school, grew up in syracuse. even though he doesn't speak to me anymore, i still think of their basketball team with great fondness. how dorky is that?

it's okay to say the d-word in my journal. i don't punch duke fans. (often. and unless they deserve it for many other really good reasons outside of being duke fans, like being hopelessly attractive and unavailable, or pouring drinks on me.) <3

I have great hope for Villanova even though I don't think they'll make it past the Sweet 16. They have beaten Pitt twice this year and Kansas once back when Kansas was number two in the country.

This time of year reminds me of my hs history teacher. Every year he would fill out a bracket and every year it would be perfect. Everyone knew that he changed it as the games were played yet he denied it every time (I had him for three years of history). I can't help but think of this time of year now with fondness. Good memory.

nova'd have to see carolina in the sweet sixteen, and carolina's better on paper and on court than nova is, alas. :D

I'm actually trying to do my office pool bracket right now and looking at it and trying to pick it...damn it's harder this year than I remember it being in a very long time, possibly ever. So I'm playing it almost all on instinct--which says that NC State's at least out of the first round and should probably at least put the fear of God in UConn if not beat them outright, Georgia Tech's going to surprise everybody and beat Louisville in the second round, I really like Villanova, and it's a shame that West Virginia's getting Wake in their second game because I like them as a dark horse but I don't think they'll overcome the Deacs. I think Pittsburgh could beat Washington early, and even if they don't I don't see that team anywhere near the regional finals. I think Illinois is overrated, lightweight and boring, even with Dee Brown, and I think they are probably going to flame out spectacularly in the Sweet 16, particularly if they end up against Boston College. I have more faith than you do in Duke, I say they're at least making ( ... )

yeah, and what's up with there being no acc teams in illinois' bracket? that's just not fair, yo! put the class of the tournament up against the class of the tournament! :D

honestly, at least put tech or nc state in there. middlin acc, but STILL. i hate when a 1 pulls a relatively easy draw (such as in past years whoever was #1 in the East.) Lame. I'm contemplating playing two brackets for the pool so i can play with a couple different scenarios. gah.

i have, so far, filled out and discarded SIX DIFFERENT BRACKETS, each only fiddled with, so i can find THE BEST BRACKET EVER and WIN EVERYTHING but now i am thinking that i might just toss them out and pick by the numbers straight across and leave it at that.

THIS HURTS MY HEAD, LACY.

(if i set up a minervacat group on espn, would you put your bracket in?)
