I'm writing up my NCAA tournament preview, as requested by several of you, as dialogue between Dan Rydell and Casey McCall. Someone shoot me in the head. I am the biggest dork ever

1. New York Times - Their news reporters may be bent over and taking it from the White House, but they have the best columnists in the country.
2. Cross Stitch Collectibles - For my cross stitch pattern junkie needs. I finally stopped ordering stuff a few months ago because I have so many patterns that I haven't started yet, but I love browsing this site.
3. The Smoking Gun - My guity pleasure. I can kill hours on this site.
4. Hoops Hype - For all things NBA. I mainly come for the rumors page so I can find out everything before it gets to Sportscenter.
5. Wonkette - A wonderful, snarky, political blog.
1) Nytimes.com Yes, overdone, cliche and all that, I keep it as my home page, scan the headlines and if the world doesn't seem any more blown up than usual, I go about my day

Missed yesterday's lecture? Can't find your syllabus to save your life? Have a midterm tomorrow and can't find the solutions to your first problem set? It's all there and more! honestly, what did people do before the internets? i remember life before the internets, in fact, and it was a POOR IMITATION of life with all this information at your fingertips.
Let's try this again... (I hate typing these twice!)mainstreammessMarch 10 2005, 15:26:20 UTC
The first three because people sent them to me as OMGWTFthisissoterrible! But they're funny and hopefully fake, (the first one is, anyhow) and I'm easily amused.
And I guess honorable mentionsmainstreammessMarch 10 2005, 15:41:27 UTC
to movies.yahoo.com/upcoming Because I was reading Greg's gossip before yahoo bought him out, and he's got info on movies I'd never heard of
and also to www.snopes.com, because there's nothing better than taking the panic!wind out of the sails of coworkers who do nothing but foward "public service" emails full of urban legend BS.

and also to www.snopes.com, because there's nothing better than taking the panic!wind out of the sails of coworkers who do nothing but foward "public service" emails full of urban legend BS. absolutely. on the carleton bulletin board system, someone's always "snopesing" things. someone being whoever gets to it first, and always being, well, always. :D
* iSketch - great online pictionary game, capable of robbing you of many hours of your day, if you're not careful.
* Knitty (including the Knittyboard) - definitely the best online knitting magazine. Patterns that are actually interesting, challenging, and pretty. Informative articles. A sense of humor. It has it all.
* Yarn Harlot - My favorite knitting blog. She knits interesting things, and more often than not, I find myself dangerously close to spewing liquids out of my nose when reading her blog. She is an excellent writer, which is what really makes her blog special. If I could only read one knitting blog, I'm pretty sure it would be her blog.
* e-Scrabble - Free online Scrabble. Yay! This is actually kind of a cheat, because there is another online Scrabble site that I like more. It is, however, somewhat of a secret place, as the official Scrabble people don't like that we can play online for free, and sometimes try to close down websites. So I won't link my favorite one, for their sake. (But true Scrabble fans

possibly i am going to spend the entire rest of my day playing scrabble online. i can consider it training in my quest to eventually kick insidian's butt at scrabble.
1) Go Fug Yourself: You know how when you go to the club with your girls, you end up sitting in the corner and snarking on people's outfits? These chicks do it to famous people. *loves*
2) IMDB.com: If not for this site, I would have killed TB by now. He sucks at "Where Do I Know Him From?" Sucks.
3) The Hunger Site: Actually it's a collection of sites that by merely clicking on a button, you can help give money, breast exams, and books to those that need them. My first stop every morning of work and it makes me feel like I'm doing my part (even if it is v v tiny).
4) Gossip Central: I am so pop culture's bitch. This is my shameful proof.
5) Quicktime Trailers: While I am a total slack ass and haven't been to the movies since Spiderman 2/Bourne Supremacy (blech on both), I've watched every trailer in the history of mankind. Or at least every trailer on this page. Ooh, new ones!

Bonsaikitten.com OMGthosepoorkitties! Heh.
Fatchicksinpartyhats.com Because I'm a fat chick, and I totally hope he's kidding, but people need to get a sense of humor anyways.
Realultimatepower.net Because ninjas are totally sweet.
And the obligatory:
IMDB.com Because my fav job to this day was the video store, and because my family played casting games since I was little.
Fark.com Because they have news before anyone else.
