[in the end, qt was the epitome of class, and that's what this year was about.]

I wish I had some good advice for all the Carolina fans I know who are grieving right now, because I know that, for some of you, it's my fault that you're grieving. I cared so much that you started to care, too, and all it's gotten you is a broken heart. I don't have any good advice. I behaved better last night than I have in this circumstance ( Read more... )

Beautifully said, and I was sorry your team lost.

On the distraction tip, do you have access to pictures of hot Georgia Tech catchers? Inquiring minds want to know!

Well, as far as hot Georgia Tech catchers go, you can always google Matt Wieters. *grin* But, no, I don't have any of this year's crop. I ogled from 15 feet and feel it's really the only place to see them. :D

(and thanks for the condolences. next year, next year. i'm a cubs fan, i know how that works.)

The faithful are rewarded. Also, I am rooting for the Cubs to win the NL central and ultimately the World Series EVEN THOUGH the Cincinnati Reds keep popping up to remind me they are cute and scrappy.

My favorite hot Georgia Tech catcher, of course, is hanging out in my icon ;)

i won't tell you about my crying (except for the fact that it was copius), but don't worry - this is the kind of heartbreak that it's ok to have. we had such a good year, and those boys took us further than they did last year. Here's hoping that as many as possible stick around and try to take it even further next year.

in other news, i dreamed about them. in my dream, i hugged tyler (and congratulated him on the naismith?), and listened to coach talk to somebody about how he wanted a new nickname, and then took a picture with all the boys. danny had slightly longer (curlier?) hair than usual, and lil' brudder was rocking some awesome facial hair. basically, it was the best conciliatory dream EVER.

it's okay to cry! i cried! it's just -- not okay to take to your bed, or let it define you. i forget that sometimes. and there's always, always next year.

there is a candidate for congress here in the nc, and the signs that are all over say LAWSON FOR CONGRESS, and every time i see one i think, "north carolina, you shouldn't let 19 year old point guards run for office." true story, m. ♥

there was a time last night when i seriously thought about skipping church this morning (which for me is kind of a big deal) and spending the next week weeping, but then I got it all out of my system, and i think i'm better now. except for having to go into work tomorrow and deal with balding-annoying-old-dude who will make some kind of insensitive comment, especially since he's an oklahoma/texas fan - something to the effect of "man - kansas was pretty good, weren't they? see what my teams have to deal with all year?", and it will take all my restraint not to punch him in the face.

dude. lil brudder doesn't even realize that his goatee thing makes him look like a muppet - i don't think he could figure out how to run for congress. But if for some wild reason they elected him (and not this other lawson character), that would make my year.

p.s. did you ever see that someone in the washington post used the phrase "jet posing as a point guard" to describe him? it made me unbearably happy.

just remind yourself that he's just jealous because oklahoma got spanked by louisville and memphis bent texas over; it's not personal, it's just run-of-the-mill human nastiness. i promise it'll be okay. ♥

It's completely your fault that you made me love these tall boys to the extent that for the past, oh, couple of months or so my heart has been walking around 2 feet in front of me bumping into people and telling them all about my love for 19 year old point guards, crunk-dancing ballers, record-breaking pretty boys, etc.

Yes, it's completely your fault, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Thank you.

ps. there's always next year. Tyler, come back!

this is the worst part of the season -- waiting to hear the decisions. but rest assured: no matter how many people go, if any, it will never be as bad as '05, when we graduated 3 and lost 4 to the nba early. we're gonna be good next year, we really are. i'm already excited about it. ♥

also, OMG, can you believe how well I've done in the pool? It blows my mind. I'm actually winning in another pool I submitted that same bracket to.

I have to admit I'm a Memphis girl through and through, but I absolutely wanted to see them play your Tar Heels tonight. It would have been an amazing game to watch.

I was so thrilled to see Memphis win on Saturday. And then I was so, so sad to see Carolina lose. But as you said- there is always next year.

And I, in return, am sorry y'all lost last night, though I have to admit I was very excited for Kansas. Like Roy, I still harbor a fondness for Kansas leftover from his tenure there. But next year. There's always next year.
