Actually, roadkill isn't all that bad, necessarily. It depends on how fresh it is. I've heard that some people when they hit a deer will take the carcass and take it home with them to divide up and put in the freeze for whenever it's needed.
I haven't had deer meat yet, but I've heard it tastes quite good. I have had bear, which is surprisingly similar to high-grade beef in taste and texture.
I dunno, for me there's just something about the term "roadkill" that makes me go "Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" *shrugs* I'll eat alot of various, considered gross, things. But I can't bring myself to knowingly eat roadkill. I think it's just how I was raised. Venison is likely very tasty, and goodness knows after living in NY I'm sure there isn't a shortage of them anywhere, I'm actually surprised I haven't eaten the stuff by now. Hrmm.

And, trust me, no one refers to it as 'roadkill' when serving it at the dinner table.
