We all know that sex is a powerful force, but this is the first time I've heard it linked to job security! Job insecurity, yep, that I've heard of. When I graduated uni at 40, potential employers always fished around, trying to find out if I had a family or wanted more family in the future. Such questions are verboten under U.S. law, and I learned to say, "I'm sorry, I don't have to answer that question." That never lost me a job but when I answered and they found out I had school-age children - and might have to stay home with them - that ended a few interviews quickly. FanSee
I think that industries are still hesitate to hire women with small children, or women that show interest in having a family, which is so very wrong.
The new mom that i am working for actually interviewed while she was 7 months pregnant, so they knew ahead of time and are fine with it...plus it's a bonus for me if they do have small kids for the next 5 or 6 years!
Enjoy it. The new job will be great. Also enjoy handing in your resignation - they are really going to miss you, I think. Take it easy and enjoy yourself.
I think that they will only miss me when the realize that no one else is going to be willing to do the cupcakes and such....and when they realize that i have taken my personal recipes with me :)
