What would you do without your animals. Here's hoping that the melanoma is easily taken care of.

Life without animals would totally be boring!

I'm waiting for the appointment with the surgeon. He has to do a more in depth biopsy (bigger margins, deeper cutting) to see how far it went.

Melanomas are nothing to fool around with. However, my mother had two removed with no further complications. What baffles me is that my very fair-skinned mother was living on the plains in Oklahoma, and the doctor felt that it was exposure to the hot Oklahoma sun (no trees casting shade) that triggered the moles. Mama started bundling up more to go out and hang her wash in the summer than in the winter. Somehow I don't associate Ontario with fierce sun.

I'm so glad you are getting them taken care of, no matter how annoying the procedure is. Keep us updated, please? FanSee

P.S. I know I missed a picture-post of yours. You should be hearing from me again soon.

I actually fall into the 'blue-eyed, fair skin' category and as kids we NEVER wore sunscreen/hats whatever and i can't begin to count how many blistered sunburns that i've had, which can cause problems.

We get extreme UV indexs on a fairly regular basis and given the fact that i swim all the time and am on the water, i'm not really surprised.

The surgeon is going to do a wider/deeper biopsy to see if it's spread to surrounding tissue and stuff.

I will keep you updated *big hugs*
