I read more into this and can give you an idea of the problems: Naturra is a development company that is buying the bond lake land from the upper penisula power company. The power company was given the land by the government to build a hydroelectric damn, which they did, and entrusted them to preserve the natural beauty and public use of the place. Naturra wants to split the land into 2 acre lots and sell them off (probably starting around $300,000, if their current listings in other places is any guide). These places will include private docks. Bond lake has no docks as of yet, and anyone with $300,000 is probably not going to use a row boat with a weak onboard motor (more like a really nice large loud boat, which is cool but belongs somewhere where there aren't bald eagles and black bears and other natural beauties). People are contesting the deal on the grounds that it violates the terms defined when UPPCO was entrusted with the land, and that there was no public involvement in the decisions to sell the land for development
