I used to watch for writing inspiration back in college. My professor talked about eavesdropping as well and so I got good at that. Of course...it's rude, but only if they know.

Well, if you're doing that hardcore stalker staring thing? It's really not, least I don't think so. Just watching folks is normal shit. As for eavesdropping...it's a null concept to me. You're either snooping or you ain't, anything else is overhearing. That's never intentional.
