while i was sitting on a bench on campus waiting for my next class,
i watched a squirrel dig up a hole,
pull out a red peanut M&M,
and eat it.

isn't chocolate was poisonous to animals?
it was so bizarre.

urban creatures are the strangest things.

i've seen squirrels eat chocolate before. They love it. Just it large quantities it can be dangerous. He will probably feel sick later.

i'm thinking that perhaps i should have stopped him.
but i was just sitting there mystified...
and he probably would have found something worse to eat, anyways.
oh! you should have seen the nards on this guy.
i wish i had a camera. you would have appreciated it.

squirrel nards = HOT. Almost as hot as 6 squirrel boobies. And digging an m&m out of the ground and eating it is just one more surreal event to add to today... I'm totally mystified as well.

I like to watch the trachcans on campus expectantly. Usually, a squirrel - sometimes two - will pop in and out, taking treasures with them.

it's so strange - and sad, honestly - the things that animals adapt to.
hermit crabs are known to make homes of random beach garbage, like coke cans.

the darker the chocolate the more dangerous it is to small animals
