Yes, I agree. I'm not sure how long with would go on, if not for James! Thanks so much for keeping up with this and for commenting. It is much appreciated.
Wow, this was great and the pacing was perfect. You built up tension so well in that first section at he farmhouse. And I loved how each of the Marauders reacted so differently around the old Muggle woman.
And good for James for being so wise! But I still want to hug poor Sirius here.
Your Lily is the best, though, so strong and brave. But this time the difficulty of her position really came through. It makes total sense that she would be so alienated and caught between worlds, but you make it seem so real.
Thank you so much! I often think I have trouble with pacing, so that is really nice to hear.
Yes, Sirius needs hugs. He's very lucky to have James to both hug him and kick him now and again.
I am so happy that you like Lily. I am hoping to make her a full character, and show some of the different ways to be in a struggle (although, she'll get some action soon. uh, yeah, that didn't come out quite right).
Caught up! Sorry, I'm a bit too tired for a proper comment, but I really enjoyed this. You have a fabulous sense of pacing and suspense, and Remus' inability to respond is a marvelous insight. Looking forward to more! M.
Oh, thanks so much for reading! I have gathered that you've been, er, a little busy lately. So, it means a lot to me that you took the time to read this - and this is more than a proper comment! I was concerned with the pacing in such a long piece, so that is lovely to hear. Glad the Remus characterization here wasn't too much. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like the conversation. I'm sure they will work something out (soon). I'm really happy that Lily seems to be working out - I was hoping to make her a rich character in this. Thanks for the lovley comment!
I'm just in awe of the way you write. Another brilliant part.
And HOORAY for insightful James!!! Now that poor sulking Sirius knows the true state of things...well, let's just say I can't wait for the two to patch things up! :)
I also loved the part with Lily and Severus, very real and in character.
Thank you so much - what a lovely thing to say! I do love James, does it show? I'm really glad he worked for you here. I have a feeling they will work things out soon. ;).
