There's a book out there you might like, except there's wolves instead of dragons... A Companion of Wolves, I believe it's called, but I can't recall the author atm. It's slashy, but justifiably so for the intent of the mind-bond explorations. Kind of like... what about all those male green-dragon riders? except with wolves.
