1K comments, first impressions/relationship meme, where the hell did all of those comments come from so quickly, etc.. Be warned that I will be asking for reverses. Also, that this might take me a while, since yesterday's internet blackout left me quite behind.

Erik, you don't count, you're getting your own essay or something.

First impressions?

Charles is so impressed by Tiffany. She's very clearly extremely sensible, and also a person who gets things done. And she does so as a witch who nevertheless is... well. She isn't sporting some attention-grabbing pointy hat or giant cape or anything like that. Charles appreciates what seems to be a level-headed manner of working steadily toward the desired results -- she seems like a far-sighted sort of person. And they shared Proud Mom Faces. Really, Charles views her as more of a potential colleague, despite their age difference.

tl;dr Charles would like to chat with her more. She seems like a very good person to know!

You already know what she was like when she was eleven . . .

Charles Xavier seems like a school teacher that everyone likes--the easy-going one who is encouraging about finger-painting and colouring outside the lines. Outside of the whole having mental powers and having awkward moments with his friend, he seemed sensible enough. He has obviously been through some serious stuff, which Tiffany won't ask about so soon because she is trying to exercise tact. She will check in on him as discreetly as possibly because that's what witches do. And have conversations with him because he doesn't talk down to her--not that many people do that after the initial meeting. She also appreciates him not prying into her mind.

Ryuuken and first impressions for Fuuma?

Fuuma is the sort of person that Charles would have really liked when he was a student, in the life before Moira approached him in the bar and everything changed. Intelligent, friendly, handsome, charming, just slightly wild without being too rough. The type of person with whom one could have entertaining conversations without getting too close. As things currently are, Charles views Fuuma as probably a good person for information and certainly wouldn't object to his company, but his active, personal interest is limited.

Charles really likes Dr. Ishida. He has a lot of respect for Ryuuken as a professional. And as has been shown, Charles has a thing for the grumpy ones. IT'S JUST SO FUN TO LET THE PRICKLY EXTERIORS ROLL OFF HIS BACK AND ENJOY THE SQUISHINESS THAT HE KNOWS IS INSIDE :x But Charles really does trust Ryuuken a lot as a doctor, and he really helped him when he first arrived in camp, so that was a super-strong first impression. As was Ryuuken's sadness. That also struck a very sensitive place for Charles when he first arrived in camp, given what had just recently happened to him in his life. And Charles is very stubborn about sticking by sad people normally anyways.

Charles is feeling less sad these days and more... tumultuous, so he's probably less with any sympathetic fits of melancholy. But it's still a relief for him to hang out with Ryuuken sometimes and just... not have to be all right or set an example or Be The Adult or save the world.

PROFESSOR LIEK DICK oh wai- well, there's no saving that one. But Charles really does like Robin a lot. He's like the nerdy kid brother Charles never had! Intelligent, earnest but not without a sharp wit, with a higher cause that he's loyal to -- Robin's just a great kid, all around. And as with Wally, he's a bit of a refreshing contrast to all of Charles's PTSD'ed kids and all. And I'm serious about the library dates. Charles is super smart, but fifty years of late twentieth-century technology is a lot to catch up on -- it's great to have someone to work with on that stuff. Plus, they've both been in camp for about the same amount of time, so they're going through learning this environment on the same timeframe. Charles probably chats with Robin a good deal, just running into him casually in daily business and such.

SO. LETO. BEST/WORST ROOMMATE ♥

Charles is kind of ridiculously fond of Leto. In the full sense of fond -- it's to a pretty foolish extent, and he's aware of that. Though he's aware of how extreme Leto's circumstances are and how far above him Leto is on the power scale, he still finds a lot in Leto that's... relateable, and Charles isn't used to having that. Having been a strange child, being the Smartest Guy In The Room In A Very Extreme Way (which Charles isn't with Leto, which is kind of weird and was initially pretty discomforting but he's gotten mostly used to it), the vast majority of people (including other mutants) having an instinctive (and justified) revulsion to what you are, the self-righteous sense of mission... Particularly before Erik got to camp, that relateability was something that had been lacking in Charles's life. (As for after Erik got to camp, I'll go into that over in your meme.) And of course, Charles is drawn to Leto's sharpness, power and, of course, his Sad And Alone-ness. Charles made up his mind to be ( ... )

So Charles can read minds. Leto generally has a very negative opinion of mind-readers. However, with Charles, it's different, mostly because no matter how Leto trolls him, Charles is able to respond and even stand his ground, which is enough to earn Leto's respect. But at the same time, Leto is jealous of what Charles has. He has a purpose, he has students, people who look up to him, he has people like Erik. For Leto, what Charles has is enviable. So, when Charles claims to be his friend, Leto was a little angry and stumped. He doesn't have friends! He has people who respect him or people who get close because they are masochists. No denying Charles is a masochist, it was still a pretty genuine declaration, one that Leto has no defenses against because he had never thought of wanting a friend before. And he acknowledged that Charles is pretty similar to himself, and that, verbal foreplay aside, they can actually see eye to eye.

So Leto is going to keep being a dick, but not extremely, unless Charles is willing to push through his ( ... )

CHARLES IS A LITTLE UNSURE ABOUT SUPERBOY BUT LIKES HIM ANYWAYS because Charles is Charles and likes people. He knows that Superboy is super-uneasy about him, but that's okay, Charles is willing to take it slow. (Superboy being interested in a chess game was like a victory!) He's curious about Superboy's deal and will probably try to find out more through his teammates.

And then there's M'gann, and you seem like a fine, upstanding, dependable boy, which is good, because if you do anything to her, Charles will break you. ♥

... that heart is not safe, i mean

Likewise, Superboy is unsure about Charles. He still has issues with people being in his mind without his trust. But he does like him, mostly because M'gann likes Charles so much. He's willing to forgive that whole mind thing and take things slow. He promises not to punch you out of your wheelchair and into the cornfield mutantmom.
