I know it will be sheer torture for me to watch DH2. I was going to perhaps watch it on DVD in the spring when I meet my friend sionna_raven in Germany. She is a Snapefan and not a silly one and she agrees with us. I only watch it with my niece I think. She is the one who convinced me by waving two midnight release tickets under my nose and begging. She looks like a cross between me and Ginny and acts like it. People calling you lame/coward/weak would not last ten minutes in your body, with your challenges, they have no business whatsoever to use those words. And I still have nightmares from a scene in E.T. I saw at age 10. I understand.
You actually made me get teary when you said they wouldn't last ten minutes in my body. And it reminds that if fandom and my inner mind helps keep me healthy in my outer mind and life, I have nothing to be ashamed about. Thank you. *huggles*
It's a pattern with this friend, I'm afraid. I am all for people having their own opinions, but to beat someone over the head with it when they don't see things your way...
And then she goes and said that she might be in my life to help me balance out? WTF? I am who I am...and I like that person!
See, I do too! Because, as you said, the books came first. It's a movie series based on a book series. I mean, I'm sure there's plenty of people who just saw the movies because the books are *gasp* big! But really...when do we start deciding what denotes a "true" fan?
Obviously this person wasn't and isn't a true friend..I for one can totally agree with you, I don't think I will be able to watch the last part, simply because of Snapes death..I will purchase the dvd but it will probably take me A VERY LONG TIME to actually OPEN IT and watch it!!
just can't watch that right now, I cried for days when I read it in the book and even now thinking too much about it makes me cry...So there...I guess under your 'friends' idea, I am not a fan either....
Perhaps there is something about Snape fans that is different from other fans of fictional characters. Maybe he speaks to us because of something inside of us that's different. Personally, I find that beautiful. But when you take that, and then he's played by Alan Rickman, whom I adore....yeah, that's not going to go well at all.
