I have my period, my flat is dusty, I have the runs (a fact of life for the newcomer to Cairo), my bin smells of cat shit, and oh my god does cat shit smell, and I'm generally grotesquely yuck

I think there should be some sort of vacuuming device for the speeding up of periods. Stupid things, they are.

Do you know I've NEVER been to the Thali cafe. Dreadful really seeing as I sort of know the guy who runs it. I have had the food from a festival stall though and it was lovely. I think I shall resolve to go there before we move to Clifton.

That's so bad! It's so cheap and delicious and, as far as I can tell, kind of authentic.
