A proper ending

May 15, 2010 21:27

After being offline for the week these were not the news I wanted to come back to. I know that all of you who still care already made a post. Those made me teary-eyed to be honest.

But I felt the need to say Goodbye myself. Save for a few breaks Heroes was with me for almost four years and it's been the longest time I spent in a fandom ever. I ( Read more... )

Oh, hon, I still love you too and I know that the way I feel looking at something like that icon of the boys in this very entry, will never change, no matter how long ago I gave up on the show. And the way I feel about the times we've had won't change either :)
I'm always hoping we will all find a new common awesome show to go crazy about as much as we did back then.

Awww, Ariel. That made me feel all warm inside.

Right now it's hard to imagine that I'll feel this passionate about a show or couple of characters again, but that's what I thought about my last fandom before finding Heroes too. I hope that we find a common show again as well because squeeing with my friends was always the best part of fandom for me. Lol and we did really go crazy. Until then I'll look forward to your art posts and RL updates, even when I'm not always commenting. *hugs you, my little one*

Is a first fandom like a first love? I still have a crush on Heroes even though it's treated me bad :/

I don't even have the first fandom crush excuse for still being hung up on Heroes. Reading parts of Tim Kring's statement on the cancellation reminded me just now how passionately I dislike this man and how freaking frustrated I have been by the writing. And yet I'll miss these characters and cast so much that I'm still feeling heartbroken.

Selfishly, I hope that a lot of us remain hung up on it for some time (or at least, until another perfect show with the same cast comes along). I was expecting it would get cancelled -- the drama surrounding Adrian's leaving the show earlier taught me to stop trying to be optimistic/ not believe persistent rumours -- but yes, I'm still sad.

And heh ... I read his statement too and was just left slightly irate. Especially with his statement about years of 'hope and global interconnectivity' (which would have been OK to hear, I think, after season 1 but no further than that -- I dunno, maybe he suffers from being too close to the show to see it objectively. Or maybe he was being sarcastic).

I heard and had an experience of wistful nostalgia for that heady year of fandom myself. *hugs*

That year was the best year in any fandom I ever had and I'm so grateful to have been a part of it at the same time as you have. :) *hugs back*

Ahh, missy, I'm still so sad. I'll miss bitchy, unimpressed Peter so much but your ending made me smile as you always do. Thanks for that. ♥

No more Sylar and Tim Kring sprouting offensive nonsense is definitely an upside, though.

And I'm so sorry that I missed you on Saturday. I think that was a misunderstanding because I thought you had time on my Saturday evening. These time zones are driving me crazy. I hope that we manage to talk soon because I miss you as much as I miss bitchy Peter. Take care of yourself and I love you even more!
