I have seen half of those movies more than once. Icannot, therefore, judge.

I am such a sucker for all those sports movies you listed. I am actually just a sucker for sports movies in general. I loved the ones which came out around the same time as Angels in the Outfield. The one where the kid inherited a baseball team. And Rookie of the Year (whose star was on Grey's earlier this season and it totally drove me nuts trying to figure out where I knew him from and why I liked him so darn much automatically).

Oh, Rookie of the Year. *hearts* I'm all torn, because the sports movie loving part of me wants to see The Greatest Game Ever Played, but that almost looks too earnest. And it is about golf, so I am kind of like, "Hmmmm."

The jailhouse dance scene is awesome.

And yes! Necessary Roughness! I heart it so. The Rockys are awesome, The Sandlot is also awesome, and I somehow managed to miss the Bad News Bears and the Longest Yard.

And oh, Hoosiers. *cuddles it*

ONE BAND! ONE SOUND! There is more to that movie than JC on the soundtrack! There is Orlando Jones, being FABULOUS!

Does your earnest sports movie thing extend to hockey, because I tell you, I cried watching Miracle and I could use some company.

Ooh, I have never seen Miracle! I did see that Alaskan hockey movie with Russell Crowe and Hank Azaria, though.

Is Miracle terribly earnest? 'Cause that'd be awesome.

Dude, Miracle is the story of the 1980 US Hockey victory over the ev0l russians - earnest doesn't even begin to cover it.

I really like the Alaskan movie with Russell Crowe. It's probably the only DEK script I unabashedly enjoy. Plus, I heart Russell Crowe.
