We've got a waterbed, so some of those were a little tough to answer. :o

Maybe you could get an air mattress to put on top of your current one..? I had to do that when I slept on my hard-ass futon.

Oh, doh. I forget some people actually have those. Does the water ever evaporate and you'd have to refill it somehow? Are those comfy??

Hmm... an air mattress... I'm wondering if I should get some of those soft foamy egg cartons...

SUPER comfy. We've got one of the ones with foam in it (added bonus: it's waveless), so there's some support there. It's sort of between firm and soft. And no it doesn't really evaporate... we didn't fill it far enough in the beginning so we had to add some water, but that's one time in almost a year.

The egg carton things work too! Probably cheaper, haha.

What do you mean waveless? I'm confused on what that means. What's a "wave"? The foam is shaped into a wave type surface or...?

I wonder if the water ever gets dirty, but it doesn't matter if it doesn't touch you, right? Hahaha. I'd like to have a waterbed just to try it out. They're probably really expensive, right?

I'll see if I can ask my parents for something.

I don't know. I tend to wake up feeling tired regardless of how little or how much I sleep. When I have few hours of sleep, I tend to smell something that isn't there. It's really weird.

My bed is actually soft. I just wore it down to hard because I've been sleeping in it for 18 years.

I should ask about feeling tired. Feeling tired and feeling sore are two different questions, eheh. I often wake up feeling tired, myself. ... smell things? That is weird.

Haha, yeah, I've slept in my bed for 18 or so years, too, it's just this bed at school is different. When I go home, it's the same one I've slept in for a long time.

I wake up sore once in a while, but like I said in the poll, I don't really think about it. My mattress has gotten a lot more hard since the past several years because I wore it down, so that contributes to it.

But when I sleep on benches or anything hard at college, I'll feel very sore(Especially on my sides if I slept on them) when I wake up. So I'd say it's your mattress...

If you feel comfortable while you're in your bed, you feel comfortable when you wake up.

I do feel comfortable in it.

The first few weeks on it was fine after the blankets were put in.

I wonder if it's something else, maybe it's stress too... my body's been worn out by a lot of things. I don't think a good mattress could save your body from that, could it?

I've just been generally very stiff and tense. It's a horrible feeling.

If you're worn out by a dozen other things, then it's no real surprise why you wake up that way. Unless I sleep 12 hours in a row, I won't be feeling better after being very stressed out/drained.

But here's to you feeling better! Hopefully something comes your way that lets you relax a bit more.

Actually I find three things affect my sleep:
-What I ate/how long ago before going to sleep
-How many blankets
-and if there is something on my mind.

If I've eaten before going to bed, then I wind up with realistic crazy dreams more often, which also results in tossing and turning.
If I sleep with all 4 blankets, I tend to get a better sleep, unless I somehow wind up on top of the blankets, then I ache.
If there is something on my mind, that also tends to make me go toss and turn which results in ending up on top of the blankets which in turn results in acheing which in turn results in realistic dreams.
Like the last dream I had, I was... just before waking up had references to the outer senshi from sailor moon.

That's interesting. Maybe I should pay attention to what I do before I sleep.

Funny you should post this; just this morning I woke up and my shoulder felt wonky because I'd slept on it funny. It didn't hurt or anything, but it wasn't exactly pleasant, either.

I tend to wake up tired, and don't fully wake up until about an hour-hour and a half after I get up. There's the odd morning I wake up fully awake, but they're not as common.

And auuuuugh, poor Honey! This is why I say we need to do away with major sporting events in general. Who needs 'em?

I used to wake up and feel refreshed every morning before junior high and high school. I don't know what happened when I came to uni.
