Victoria is a bit on the expensive side... as is Vancouver. Plus the only jobs there were for MAYBE a few months? Lots of seasonal stuff.
I moved to Edmonton because this city is swimming with work (that doesn't require schmartness yay!) and the living is quite affordable.
The one bedroom apartment I lived in for 18 years in Victoria was $585. No utilities included x_x
The apartment I used to be in with my mom here however, was a 2 bedroom with utilities included, and was much much larger than that little hovel in Victoria, and went for $750.
The two bedroom I'm in now with my roommates is $685 I believe. Not too cramped, but not overly large either.
I also was looking for a fresh start. Somewhere where I could lay down my own roots... and have them freeze in the winter time >_>;
