I will be very sad to see you not making layouts anymore! It seems a lot of people are drifting off from that (or perhaps people who just make the sort of styles I like).

It's a bit more complicated yes, but not especially difficult. I don't know how familiar you are with editing codes, but essentially you remove the float from the sidebar, disable a bunch of the sidebar elements, and remove the left margin from the maincontent. There are a few fiddly bits after that but you can always Frankenstein some layouts together.
