Tomb Raider (the original PS1 version) was my gateway game into becoming a hardcore gamer, and I'm a big series stan, the new version included. Your vid does lovely justice, and I especially loved how the song sort of lapses into a tribal beat, sinking into the background and fueling Lara's mad skills across the video. Just perfect. Thank you for sharing. I hope to see more game vids from you. ♥
I definitely plan on vidding more video games. Gaming is... pretty much the corner store of my entertainment hours, even more so than tv, and with the source having become so much more vid friendly as of late, I can't resist vidding them. I'm thinking "Remember Me" or "Dragon Age" might be next.
Watching that ended up being much more personal to me than I was expecting it to be. I found it very chilling and full of impact, especially in the reiterations of drowning and reaching up. Everything works against her, but she keeps fighting and that spoke to me greatly.
I still haven't played the game (bad me, I know) but I love the song choice and your editing is totally on-point. The emotional progression and the meat of her character arc also came through very well, which is making me want to play the game. That shot of her with the two guns at 3:07 is perfectly placed and feels instantly iconic, like "here's the Lara Croft you know." Awesome work!
MILLY IM GONNA CAPSLOCK THIS ENTIRE COMMENT. I THINK I MIGHT CRY JUST READING THE LYRICS AND THE SONG STARTS PLAYING IN MY HEAD AND JFC THIS GAME. I WAS FLAILING AT BRAD ABOUT THIS GAME AND HOW I'M ONLY A CASUAL GAMER SO THIS GAME HAS AFFECTED ME LIKE NO OTHER. I'VE LITERALLY NEVER EXPERIENCE SUCH A REALISTIC GAME. I MEAN I'M NOT THAT GOOD SO SHE GETS HURT A LOT AND IT IS SO PAINFUL AND THEN EVEN WITHOUT MY FAILED GAMING SKILLZ, THE STORY ITSELF IS SO POWERFUL. AND LARA JUST GETS THRUST INTO IT, LITERALLY!!! UUUGH IT HURTS

ETA: Oh, btw, I did vid Mirror's Edge http://milly.livejournal.com/364961.html and my most recent Club Vivid included several Star Wars games.
