I love this meta! Was gonna say some stuff about this vid in the vividcon-post-of-recs (that will surely happen soon, surely) but now I'm thinking I'll just link to you!

I get sad when people shun meta. It's not scary! The water's fine!

that is such a lovely post. 'hard sun' is definitely also one of my favorite vids that came from vvc so far & one that i will probably continue to love until forever - it made me fall in love with vidding all over again!

Considering some of the reception this vid has been getting online and in the review panel...

did it receive some bad criticism? huh, i don't get it. imo this is one of the clearest, easiest-to-understand meta vids i've seen so far... and so pretty.

It did receive some pretty harsh criticism from some people both on and offline, sadly. :(

I'm glad you enjoyed the thinky thoughts on the vid and I join in the vidding glee :D

The thing is, when we were making this, it never entered our minds (or at least my mind) that it might not be easy to read. It just seemed ... I don't know. Straightforward? And that was important because the most crucial thing about the vid was for everyone to be able to connect with it, because it's a statement about all of us.

But I think assuming a meta-level reading is a leap, and I didn't realize that at the time.

That said, I think you explained the presentation of the vid in a way that can be illuminating to both the viewer (in how to read that "language") and the vidder (in the fact that it *is* a different language).

Hmm. I'm suddenly wondering if an audio commentary about the vid might be a good thing to do. Maybe I'll talk that over with Laura.

But yet...they're not really over, are they? Because the show lives through the fans, they take it home and make it a part of their every day life.I'm just in love with the fact that this message about the ending came through so clearly for you. :) Also the incredibly flattering ( ... )

I fall short on words as well these days, so I'll just answer with this, *HUGS*

I think an audio commentary is always a good thing, but that's just me ;)

It IS... but can it wait for the next vid_commentary challenge? *shamelessly looking for community content*

Hmm. I'll talk with Laura about that. At the very least, I'll be another vidder profile soon. :)
