When Cuthbert comes in from a walk outside, he's more than a bit cold himself.

Which is not to say he wouldn't be making a beeline for the fire, the couch, and Susan anyway.

Her hot chocolate is still set aside on the low table, which makes it all the easier for her to hold out her hands to him as he approaches, the quilt sliding from her shoulders a little.

"Hey, Sue."

His hands are cold as he takes hers and leans down to kiss her. Pulling back, he sits down, then raises one hand to touch the rose he hadn't noticed before, tucked into her hair.

She curls her fingers around his hand, trying to warm it, then grows still as he touches the flower in her hair.

"Nice blanket, meimei," calls a voice from behind Susan. The voice materializes into a spaceship captain carrying a bowl of chicken fried rice and a pair of chopsticks as he sits next to her.

"Thankee-sai," she tells him, amused. "It's warm enough, say true."

For all she's sitting wrapped up in a quilt and sweater before a fireplace, she's a little chilled.

"'S a good thing, to have a fire and a couch to sit on," Mal comments, taking the first couple bites of rice, gesticulating with his chopsticks afterward.

Her glance toward the fire is half-wry.

"I'm fonder of it than I used to be, Mal, say true." Very, very dryly indeed.
