Amy has a cup of tea, and is sitting at a table. She has a book, but she's mostly watching people go by. It's been an odd week and half, really.

[ooc: Locked to Peter, for to resolve things. ETA: And Caspian, for the picking up of pieces. Thanks.]

Peter comes in from the House of Arch and spots her immediately.

Really, it's almost as if he was looking for her.

He pauses for a moment, almost looking like he's going to turn around and go back, but then he gets a cup of tea of his own and walks over to her table.

"Hello, Amy," he says cautiously, not yet sitting down.

Almost?

"Hello, Peter," she says. "You can sit down if you's like."

It's odd to feel as if she has to give him permission, really.

Well, y'know, "almost".

"Thank you," Peter says, sitting.

He turns his teacup between his hands for a moment before meeting her eyes.

"How have you been?"

"Fine. Bound."

Hey, it's news to him, right.

"You?"

Caspian, from where he has stood watching the exchange, takes this oppurtunity to come over, laying a warm hand on Amy's shoulder. His voice is gentle, but saddened.

"Do you want to tell me what just happened?"

She covers his hand with hers and squeezes it. She's silent for a long moment.

"That was . . . the end . . . of whatever that was."

A sigh.

"Oh, Amy."

He's silent for a moment, thinking.

"I'm so sorry." It's the usual thing to say, of course. But Caspian does not mean it in the usual way.

I'm sorry he hurt you, he's saying, instead. I'm sorry I didn't protect you. I'm sorry I helped this happen.

She gives him a half-smile. "It just doesn't work. And this is really for the best."

A pause. "I think that he and I can be friends again, in time. And I've really no regrets, Caspian."

That's probably not quite true. But she doesn't have any major ones, except the affect this will have on her brother.
