Montparnasse did in fact have said misfortune, but is not exactly considering it such.
He's wandered outside himself, hoping that Cywyllog's returned to the bar by now, hoping to avoid her if not. He sits near the lake, under a tree and stares out and up at the moon. Silently. Oblivious to the presence of anyone else. At least that he's acknowledging.
If she was not close enough before to speak to him, she is now, though she's already settled herself as though she had been there for some time rather than the few actual seconds it took her to be there.
