Owen Davies is dressed for church, in a plain bland grey suit that is well behind the fashion even for 1977, when he enters the bar. He does not look pleased to be there.

[Owen meets new and scary people like Raven, Morgan and Thursday Next. He actually talks to Raven, almost.]

thursday next, morgan le fae, raven, owen davies

"Do you not like bars, then?"

Raven is leaning against a nearby table.

His voice is innocently curious.

"I would not have chosen to come on a Sunday." Owen is being polite. The other man is a stranger, after all. "Hallo. Owen Davies." He offers a callused hand to shake.

Raven takes his hand, briefly.

"They call me Raven."

His attention catches on the Davies portion of the introduction.

"Are you related to Bran, then?"

His smile is a little broader, at that thought.

"He is my son," Owen says. He does not smile, but his expression softens just slightly.

*Thursday Next may be from the 80s, but, then again, her 1980s are very different from what most people's are like.*

Despite the lack of colour, it's a nice outfit.

Owen lifts his head in a small nervous jerk. "Thank you." There is a noticeable pause. "Hallo. My name is Owen Davies." He offers his hand to the woman, rather tentatively.

*Smiling, she shakes it, entirely aware that sometimes she makes people uncomfortable -- it's a bad habit.*

Mine's Thursday Next. I haven't met you before, I don't think.

Everyone makes Owen Davies uncomfortable.

Owen's grip is dry and firm, but he ends the handshake hastily. "I do not come here often."

He fumbles for further conversation. "Do you?"

A girl, slim and black-haired and dressed like a Roman, glances up as he comes in.

"You don't look very happy," she says, quietly.

Owen neither agrees nor disagrees aloud. Instead he says, "Hallo. My name is Owen Davies." He offers his hand less hesitantly than he did earlier. Owen has gotten some practice in meeting strangers tonight.

She glances at his hand, curiously, but as she shakes it hesitantly, obviously she's been paying attention to the other patrons.

"Morgan."

The name Morgan is not uncommon, although in Wales it is usually a name for men. Owen looks at Morgan with no special attention, only with his usual distant distracted expression. "Where are you from, Morgan?"
