A white rose appears on the bar for her. It is in full bloom, and smells incredibly sweet. The accompanying card simply reads Maria. There is no other clue as to the intentions of its sender. But there seems to be nothing threatening about this. It even has the thorns removed.

This time.

Maria blinks.

And sniffs the rose before tucking it into her book.

And simply assumes it's from Michael.
