Roland doesn't mention the letter. Or the packet. Doesn't mean he's not thinking about them.

Roland turns, still holding onto the reins, and spies her -- and a very small smile, now. "Hile."

She looks at him. She doesn't look especially upset, or especially happy; it's her default expression, just a little too expressionless to quite be normal.

"Hile."

She raises a hand, slowly, to pet the horse's neck gently, still looking at Roland.

"Go ahead." The smile hasn't left yet.

Now that he's not raging angry, and now that her fool of a father isn't standing in front of him, he can afford to smile.

It may be noted that as Cuthbert is wearing a tutu, his right to stare at Roland in a top hat with a horse is questionable.
