"Meg," X says, making her way between tables to take a seat across from Meg.

"You have been okay?"

"Yes, I have.

"How are you?

"How are things here?"

X's response is simple, largely because it is true.

"Things here are strange. People are very uneasy."

Beat.

"I do not know why."

In the grand scheme of X-men history, red skies and earthquakes are child's play.

"I haven't been here for a bit," Meg says.

"But things have happened here before, right? And it's all worked out?"

"Hey! Awesome, I found you before they all went out."

Parker's face is lit up by the dish she is carrying -- a deep dish peach cobbler festooned with birthday candles.

"Please tell me I got the Milli-date right, otherwise this is going to look really weird."

"You got the Milli-date right," Meg says. "And the non-Milli-date, too.

"Hello, Parker.

"That looks lovely."

"Thanks."

Parker carefully sets the cobbler down in front of Meg.

"I made it myself. As evidenced by the fact that it is way lopsided. But it smells great, so I think it'll taste fine."

"Happy Birthday!"

"Thank you," Meg says, blowing out the candles in the cobbler.

"And it looks fine.

"And smells even better.

"Are you going to help me eat some of it?"
