Kanaya's just about to order some food for herself when one of the Bar's patented napkin-messages appears in front of her, and she blinks at it for a moment before responding.

Karkat is sitting at the bar already, doodling endlessly in one of his many notebooks. He seems primarily focused on drawing pictures of a human boy with spiky black hair and inflicting various illustrated torments on him, although he has also littered the sheet with spades of all sizes.

Surprisingly, this human male does not have glasses. At least, in the doodles where his face is still visible.

Kanaya catches sight of her friend, and wanders over. The notebook and doodles, however, draw a smile.

"Is There Someone I Should Be Talking To About Hating You Properly, And What Their Intentions Are?"

"NO, SHUT UP, THIS IS PRIVATE. IT IS A PRIVATE PERSONAL MATTER THAT YOU SHOULD SHUT UP ABOUT."

He shoves the notebook away, then thinks better of it and grabs it and flips it over.

She chuckles.

"Very Well. I Will Let Things Lie. Would You Like Me To Make You A Drink In Amends For My Egregious Display Of Meddling?"

"...Pale Solicitation?" Asks the young adult blonde human with a raised eyebrow.

Kanaya looks up from the bar-top to her first customer (Karkat does not count).

"Ah. Yes. Did You Wish To Know What's In It?"

"...yeah, a bit," Before he attempts to cadge a drink out of it at least. "The designing an outfit doesn't sound too terrible, but I think it's generally wise to investigate all options."

"A Pale Solicitation Is Essentially Rum, Vodka And Gin, With Cream And Sugar. As For Designing An Outfit, That It Most Certainly Your Call."

"I have no idea what any of those are," says the grey-haired, scarred young Korean-looking woman in the... hrm. Well, it's body armor, anyway. "The names sound interesting, though."

The armour has the troll standing behind the counter a little straighter, and a careful glance.

"They Are. Do Any Of Them Interest You?"

"That would depend on what's in them," Ellen says. "I'm not very fond of sweet drinks, but other stuff's usually okay."

"You May Not Like The Pale Solicitation, Then. You May Enjoy A Bloody Mary, Though."

"Excuse me, are any of those non-alcoholic?"

[bloodyvirgo]

"They Are Not," she answers. "Would You Like Me To Make You Something Non-Alcoholic?"

"Just a soda would be good then, thank-you."

[bloodyvirgo]

A nod, and the troll turns to the expanse of Bar behind her.

"I Can Do That. What Kind Would You Like?"

"Greetings, Kanaya," Teja says, reading the boards as he comes near.

"Why is the solicitation only attempted?"

He seems slightly amused by that, in that very minimal way Teja has of showing amusement. Kanaya, not knowing him well, might not even notice.

The thing about trolls, is that reading body language is a Thing. Especially around unfamiliar people who you're unsure about. "Because One Never Knows If Said Solicitation Will Be Accepted Or Denied. Thus, An Attempt."

"Well, Just Because It Is Not A Concupisent Form Of Romance, Does Not Make It Any Less Of A Valid Quadrant Of Troll Romance."
