From a few tables over, Skellig pauses in studying his Rubik's Cube, to study Scorpius -- who seems to be studying something himself.

Pieces of wood.

Cheerfully:

"Building a house?"

Don't mind the wings.

Mind them? No. Blink repeatedly for near a minute at them? Yes.

He's also half-naked so that gets some blinking at too.

"Uhm. A broom, actually. I'm debating on which to, uhm, use for the handle."

It's hard to get shirts on that don't confine the wings - hence why he usually sticks to the coat. And he doesn't mind the blinking. He's used to that.

Skellig tilts his head quizzically.

There's something Mia's been thinking about. Something that it'd only be right to talk about with Scorpius.

But Cepheus gets to him first.

"Hey," the boy says to his half-brother. "Wanna story?"

He holds up a book by its covers, the pages hanging from the spine. The cover indicates that the contents are traditional legends of Lunar's origins.

Scorpius puts the wood samples down for his half-brother. He's a bit more noticeable than Red, who is still sneaking sips of butterbeer.

"'Course," he says, scooping the kid into his lap for the impromptu story-time. "Are you going to read it to me? Or do I have to read it all?"

"I read," Cepheus says.

Holding the book sideways.

"Dis home," he informs, pointing to a picture of an island that looks like it's being swept away by an ocean.

The words, if Scorpius can read them, are indeed about Vane's mythical origins.

Scorpius avoids the island and points to a bit of the surrounding scene.

"What, there? That's home?"
