Thalia Grace - Main Bar

Thalia is feeling nostalgic so instead of ordering a cheeseburger as per the norm, she ops for enchiladas instead. When they appear they are not alone, for a cupcake the size of...well a cake appears with a single candle and "Happy Birthday" spelled out in frosting.

Thalia does not like birthdays which was why she avoided the main bar yesterday. She ( Read more... )

William enters from the back door where he's been making sure all the horses are warm as the weather's gotten cold here.

When he sees Thalia and her cake he grins and walks over, "Today's your birthday?"

"It was yesterday and don't," she replies grumpily. She hates to be nasty but she has issues with her birthday. She pushes the cake towards him and holds up a fork. "You want this?"

He opens his mouth and closes it as she looks angrier than he realized and shrugs as he takes off his gloves,

"I don't think I could get halfway through it."

"Sorry," she says when she sees his crest fall. The word catches her off guard as well as she hasn't apologized for anything since she found out her who her dad was. Which makes her realize how much William is starting to mean to her, which in turn is worrying in it's own way. "Past history."

She licks her fork clean of enchilada sauce and stabs the cake for a bit. "Okay, wow. It's spice cake; maybe I can help."

"Thalia -"

Annabeth very nearly stops short at the sight of the birthday cupcake.

Still. Every birthday for a demigod is more or less a miracle; it usually means another year surviving gods, monsters, and intensive training at Camp.

"Congrats," she says with a vaguely teasing grin, gesturing toward it.

"Thanks," she replies with a hint of a grumble. There's only been one good birthday in Thalia's life...okay maybe two but the one with Luke and Annabeth trumps anything her mom ever managed. She holds up a fork before continuing, "Split?"

"Sure," Annabeth says cheerfully, tucking her backpack underneath her seat.

"When was it, exactly?" she asks. "Your birthday."

She knows how weird time can get here, after all.

"Yesterday and I thought I had avoided it," Thalia grumbles. She'd been here long enough to see all the cakes show up for other patron's birthdays and so knew to try and avoid the whole thing...or at least try. One could almost think the Gods were behind it.
