Teja is sitting by the fireplace with his harp, playing a harsh old song about iron and smithcraft that he may have heard somewhere.

It's on the very edge of what one may do with a harp, but this is Teja playing and singing, so he manages to keep the grim spirit of the song, even though he may not cause that much noise all by himself ( Read more... )

When Karkat comes downstairs, he makes a face at whoever is making the racket by the fire, then proceeds to the bar, where he asks her if she can pass a message on for him to whoever owns and maintains the forge outside.

When she passes back a note identifying the source of the noise, he makes a deeper face, then grits his fangs and approaches Teja, waiting politely for the music to stop on its own.

The music does stop, eventually, and Teja turns to look at the audience, which seems slightly less than enthusiastic.

"Greetings," he says. "Is there any thing I may help you with?"

He is, after all, Security as well.

"UH, YEAH, THE BAR SAYS YOU'RE IN CHARGE OF THE FORGE OUTSIDE, IS THAT RIGHT?" Karkat on his best behavior is a very awkward Karkat.
