Harry grabs Ron by the shoulder as well, just in case you can't.

It stuns that particular tentacle.
But there are two more to takes it place, one to lash on Ron's ankle and the other to slap at Harry.
The sand seems angrier. Ron's panicking.
"What'd you go and do that for!"

'Oh well, I'll let it suck you in next time, shall I?'
He jumps back from the bit trying to slap him, and then darts in to grab Ron again.
'Petrificus Totalus!'
He aims at the complete blockage in the doorway this time. Stop the whole, break free of the arms? Maybe?

"Oh! Because you were so helpful, right? Looks to me you pissed it right off," Ron roars in the ensuing struggle.
Except that Harry is quite helpful because the sand stills and Ron breaks free of the grasp on his ankle.
He smacks Harry on the arm, companionably.
"It picked the wrong wizards to mess with, didn't it?"
