It's taken a bit of time, getting used to a new set of instincts in the back of her mind. Now, Kanaya trusts herself enough to brave the main bar for a longer length of time, rather than scurrying down the stairs for sustenance, then disappearing back up them ( Read more... )

Cordelia's looking for Karkat; it's the black hair and orange-yellow horns that catch her attention. Almost immediately she sees it isn't him, though. The hair's different, and the horns are the wrong shape, and the skin ... is she glowing? Maybe it's a cosmetic of some kind.

Kanaya might notice the older human woman noticing her, if she's paying any attention.

She does, in fact, notice. Though not until she looks up from her work for a moment.

There's a slight...pull, and a feeling of not quite kinship that Kanaya isn't quite sure about, but she offers a fanged, friendly smile nonetheless.

Fawkes is preparing for a trip in the Wasteland when he returns home, and at the moment that preparation takes the form of sitting down to read one of the books he can't get on the other side of the door. Looking for his usual reinforced chair- let's face it, he's got a lot of mass- means that he happens to catch sight of an unfamiliar, non-human face and form.

And the symbol on her shirt, which he remembers from Halloween.

Kanaya, there is a very large, faintly puzzled-looking figure slowly approaching your table.

Kanaya looks up from her sewing, and up some more, looking at Fawkes with faint puzzlement.

"Oh. Hello."

"Excuse me," says Fawkes politely. This is not an easy thing. With his throat and lips as they are now, any clear speaking is an effort, and sounds like he ought to be screening calls for a Duke of Hell. "I couldn't help but notice your symbol, there. Were you by any chance present for Halloween, this year?"

She frowns thoughtfully, a memory from Halloween coming to front. Then, cautiously:

"...Fawkes?"
