Well, at least the dearth of cinnamon rolls the bar had been going through is apparently over, if one judges by the warm, cinnamony smells coming from the kitchens.

Or, perhaps, if one judges by the tray of large rolls Rae comes through the kitchen door carrying.

Oh, so there was something urgent.

"Thank you!" He calls, mostly to the bar, or whatever bit of magic controls the doors. It pays, he's found, to be nice to sentient or semi-sentient magic.

And then he goes in search of cinnamon rolls his second apprentice.

She sets the tray down on a centrally-located table, and sticks the little sign up stating the price ($2.50 each, $0.50 for extra icing, $20 per dozen).

Rae had only made a small batch of cinnamon rolls this morning (only around three dozen or so) to help pay off the tab she'd accumulated in the last few days of staying at the bar. Terry had been left with Kyoko, another of the kitchen staff at the coffeehouse, taking her turn babysitting while July made arrangements for Paulie's funeral.

Rae looks better today, at least, though not fully recovered.

"Is there a master discount?" His coat and hat have gotten left behind today, which makes him a (slightly) less formidable figure. We won't say how much of that is due to the fact his arm warmers are fuzzy wool, or the way it's obvious he hasn't taken any fashion tips since the 1940's.
