There is, in fact, a shortish guy all in black over by the fire; at this distance, most of what can be seen is a broad-brimmed black hat and a black cloak, with the glimpse of a white full-face mask under the brim. He doesn't appear to be typing, though.

It's a few minutes before there's any sign of a response at all, and when it comes, it comes slowly. One might get the (entirely correct) impression that Cata doesn't really have any experience with this sort of thing.
