It's Halloween.

And while Barbara works pretty hard to keep from getting her hopes up as the day approaches each year, she's only ever partially successful. Disappointment is a hard thing, of course, but as each year comes and she's not disappointed, it's hard not to anticipate just a bit ( Read more... )

"Batgirl?"

OK, it could be someone in a Batgirl costume. It's a popular costume at home among some girls, after all. And who knows if this Batgirl is the one that Robin never talks about, or some version from another timeline (the way Steph is a Robin in another world).

But he has to wonder. And to keep an eye on her.

It's been a while since anyone has referred to her as such, but Barbara's head still comes up with an easy, and somewhat mischievous grin. Old habits, as they say, die hard.

"Hi!" she waves.

"You don't know me. And you won't recognize me. But my name's Cyborg. We're in the same line of work. And common acquaintances." Though, as far as he knows, not friends.

Actually, she does know him. But, well, she hadn't. So Babs grins, her teeth bright beneath her mask. "Yeah? I like common acquaintances."

X's nostrils flare, and she pauses on her way down the stairs, searching through the crowd until --

There.

She slips across the floor of the Bar, approaching Barbara from the left.

She stays clear of the other woman's blind spots.

It is only polite.

"Hello."

The first question is whether or not Babs recognizes her.

Quite polite. Of course even a giddy Barbara notices X. Since X isn't really going for not being noticed.

"Hello," she responds. Recognition, or the lack thereof, doesn't make it onto Babs' face. But she does smile. It's somehow softer than her usual smile. For those who care to compare the two.

X notices it, even if the meaning probably passes her by.

She is used to that.

But then, very carefully --

"I am allowed to ask when you are from?"

It could be relevant.

Barbara laughs. "You are, but it's not long after the last time you saw me."

X has a good nose, Babs knows.

Oh, look, it's a Hal. And he's bringing his winning grin.

"Well, if it isn't the one Gothamite I actually like to run into."

That would get a thwap from Dinah if she was around, but--ha ha--she's not around, is she?

Lucky Hal?

Yeah. Sure. That's what he is.

"Is it?" Babs asks, smirking over at him. "And why is that?"

"You actually smile once in a while."

"I was starting to think Gotham had some kind of law against that."

"Maybe it's just you," Babs quips with an amused chuckle.

Enzo is not frolicking. Not no way, not nohow.

...okay, once he's used to the shape, he is maybe a little tempted to test its moves. But he's in public.

But he's getting a curious look from the woman on the bar.

A pony?

A very familiarly coloured and clothed-and that bears repeating, clothed-pony.

It's wearing little boots.

So it is. Which is pretty much completely adorable.

Babs doesn't allow any recognition to show, though. Secret identities and all that.

[ooc: Sorry, missed the notif somehow!]
