He's got a bit of a spidey sense for blood though, so as Jack passes behind him, he turns around.

It's just that at the moment, his fight-or-flight response is controlled by the irrational part of his brain.

Though Guppy would probably notice that Jack has a large chemical burn scar covering the back of his right hand. I don't know if his diagnostic tool would catch this, but it's a deep scar and a lot of the nerve endings in that area would have been killed off. At some point I have to have Jack approach the Milliways medical staff about getting some plastic surgery on that hand. Jack's liver and kidneys probably aren't in the greatest shape, and he has lots of scars elsewhere, but the former probably isn't to an extent that Guppy would have to treat it at the moment.]

Well, one time he flatlined due to being electrocuted during an interrogation and one heart attack a few hours later. And then everything the Chinese had done to him couldn't have helped in that regard.
