The weather is still relatively nice outside, so Rue is outside indulging in one of her favorite habits while she still can - tree climbing. At the moment she's perched up in her favorite; it's a strong, solid oak tree, a few sections of leaves just beginning to turn color but still mostly green ( Read more... )

Ako's universe is, she assumes, still on hold. Being bound does that when there is no one else from home.

Right now she's taking a walk through the woods; too full of nervous energy to sit and read or write or even just people watch inside.

Rue watches the other girl from her perch above, but says nothing for the moment.

Ako reaches down and grabs some acorns off the ground, popping the caps off and bouncing all of the parts in her hand.

Then she starts throwing them away one at a time.

Curiosity getting the better of her, Rue calls down, "What're you doing that for?"

[OOC: I kind of wanted to throw Ellen at Rue. Would it be okay if I tagged with her and Dogmeat? Her two-headed cow would probably be a bit much, but the dog's normal, at least.]

OOC: [go right ahead! Although the two-headed cow probably wouldn't have phased her too much; it sounds like one of the Capitol's muttations from her world.]

Even after all this time visiting Milliways, trees are still a little weird for Ellen. There were none outside of vids and texts for nineteen years when she was growing up, and then came the surface, where the only trees she ever found were in Oasis. For the most part, she tends to stay out in the field and paddock areas. Less chance of a tree suddenly turning out like Harold.

For the most part, however, is not always- especially not when Dogmeat is involved. She's trying to follow the grey and black heeler, who's run into the woods chasing something- Lord alone knows what- and in the process, happens to glance up.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there."

"It's okay," Rue answers with a shrug. It's not like she has a monopoly on the woods around here.

"Is that your dog?"

Ellen nods. "He's probably hunting," she says. "Dogmeat will chase just about anything back home, but the creatures here are mostly small enough for him to catch. He doesn't bother people, though."

The chipmunk Dogmeat was after seems to have gotten away from him. Oh well. He'll chase it another time. For now? Sitting and sniffing at unfamiliar human-smells on the tree sounds good.

"Why d'you call him 'Dogmeat'?" It's a curious name for a dog; Rue thinks it sounds more like what someone would call a soup ingredient.
