Got some info from hotline.
Ask for Apollo...He didn't leave it at that, of course; there's a description of himself, so people can find him. But the haiku's really the only part that bears mentioning

Well, she's not trying to tear the sign down, so he's inclined to help a girl out. "Problem?"

There's a small jump at his voice.

"Not sure what one of the words means," she admits pointing it out, "English has so many it's hard to keep track of them all."

He goes over and has a look. "Oh, 'smiting'? Basically... destroying something in a fit of righteous fury. Thought it was a good word for getting the point across, and it fit the haiku."

Hot dogs, eh? He hadn't been sure of the specifics. Enzo sniffs the air and follows the smell of prophecy and cough syrup.

"Hey."

"Enzo, right?"
The green skin is a little unmistakable.

"Yeah. So... it's hot dogs?"

"It's hot dogs. Found a wrapper for 'em last night. Apparently, the place that makes 'em gets this complaint a lot."
Why do people make these things? Really.

After the notice about the mermaid Thalia has gotten into the habit of looking at the notice board from time to time and this is one of those times. She had actually come down to work out, so she's in a leather cuirass with her Spartan sword as she reads to original notice about the weird illness and the subsequent notice about the hotdogs.

"What in Tartarus?" she says with a puzzled scowl.

Apollo grins. "Not in Tartarus, in Milliways. This is weird even by the standards of some of Dad's conquests."
(Because... really, a shower of gold coins? That's just not fun or comfortable for anyone.)

Thalia whirls and is ready with a sharp word or two but they get swallowed when she catches sight of the speaker. Hot guy! Hot older guy but still...*

She blinks a couple of times and then says much more politely than she had been ready to, "Excuse me?"

"Well, for one thing, when he felt the need to sneak around our dear stepmother, this would've been a little... not at all subtle." Not that bulls and gold coins are all that inconspicuous, but they're at least not outright phallic.
Apollo shrugs. "That and they're biting people and giving them a rabid case of condimentia, from the sound of things. I've yet to see a victim up close and personal, and I'm not sure I want to."

"Do you know what's happening to me?" Guppy asks.

He's been lurking around in a hoodie for a while...

"I might be able to hazard a guess," Apollo says. "Don't suppose you got bitten by a hot dog a week or so ago?"
He can't do more than guess when this started, but if there's already a lunar cycle involved, that seems like a good one to him.

"I cut my hand on something, I didn't see what... but I did go near some hot dogs. I took their temperature."

Yes, this sounds weird to him, too, which is saying something.

She didn't know beforehand whether this Apollo fellow was a god or not. Then again, she doesn't really care if a mortal loses a memory or two trying to read it. At least she left a fake name and a description of herself. She isn't totally thoughtless.
