It's been several days since that verdammt sausage managed to nick the Medic's finger. They have not been good days. There have been rashes and hair outbreaks and- urrrgh. Suffice it to say Herr Medic is not pleased

...Well, make that two characters the mun's going to have involved in hot-dog-smiting, now.

On a non-meta level, Cata brightens a bit when she comes into the bar and sees her friend... but her smile fades when she actually takes his current state into account.

There's a moment's ach mein Gott vot do I do now horrified pause before he clears his throat.

"Trying to make zese a little more acceptable as a foodstuff. Ze color is completely unappealing as it is. Vhy do you ask?"

"Well, I can see where the color presents a problem to you, but I don't know that blue sausages would really be any better. I'd be inclined to think they were undercooked."
But that's not the real problem here. "Are you feeling all right?"
(If anyone else - except perhaps Sam - were to ask, she'd totally deny this was showing concern for someone's well-being.)

"Nein, nein, zat vould be if zey looked like mein earlier attempts." He indicates a bowl with some very unappetizing shades of purple sausage. "Half of zem look raw und ze ozzer half look infected. Ze right shade of blue will at least indicate zey passed through some sort of processing, ja? Und vere made safer in ze process zan ordinary raw meat..."

He grimaces, and pinches the bridge of his nose with thumb and forefinger. "I haf had better days, ja. I haf a ridiculous itch und vot feels like a fever, but I haf been trying to keep zat under control. It does mein temper no good; Herr Soldier told me he sought I was finally showing a proper fighting spirit."

And she's met Herr Soldier.
