Milliways always seems to find Tumnus near the library and today he was searching for a map when he found it in an older room.

He enters with a sigh and walks by Fawkes before stopping and asking, "Pardon me, but are you a giant?"

Tumnus looks down at the map instead of Fawkes as his time as a statue still haunts him, time isn't meant to be lost like that,

"Yes, she was, many years ago."

[calmhrtprevails]

"Good," says Fawkes firmly. "An evil like that should be purged from the land, quickly and cleanly."

Fawkes has some very definite ideas about that kind of thing.

[friend_of_lucy]

"She was and Narnia has healed."

[calmhrtprevails]

"Even better," says Fawkes. "The weather is back to normal, now? There's something other than winter?"

He's never seen winter, himself. But he's read about it.

[friend_of_lucy]

"Yes, we have the proper seasons again."

[calmhrtprevails]

"Very good," says Fawkes. "Hard as it is to farm in the Capital Wasteland, at least there are times of year when it's... not as hard as at others."

[friend_of_lucy]

"The Capital Wasteland, that's where you live?"

[calmhrtprevails]

Fawkes nods. "Before the Great War," he says, "it was the city of Washington, DC, and all the lands around it. There are small settlements now in different places, but the city itself is ruins."

[friend_of_lucy]

"Are things being rebuilt? Does anyone lead or rule?"

[calmhrtprevails]

"Rebuilding goes slowly," says Fawkes. "It's only recently that clean water's been brought back for the people of the Wasteland to use. There isn't a leader, or a ruler, that I know of. But I think people will turn to the Brotherhood of Steel, because their soldiers are the ones bringing the water."

[friend_of_lucy]

"Oh, that must make it harder. Aslan crowned the current kings and queens of Narnia."

[calmhrtprevails]

Fawkes has to think about that. "Isn't it awkward," he says, "to have more than one king or queen? In the histories I've read, there was only one at a time, in most countries."

[friend_of_lucy]

"No, not truly. Peter is the high king and as he's the eldest and they are all siblings, it works well,"

There are small bumps but rarely enough that Narnia suffers.

[calmhrtprevails]

"I see," Fawkes says. "Do they have a Parliament beneath them, or do they rule without one?"

Not that he objects either way, but when you deliberately name yourself after that Fawkes, such questions stick in the mind.

"They don't have one. Though the place they are from originally did have one so they listen to all Narnians."
