Fools and Fire

The sky is dark without a moon and only the stars glimmer give a tiny bit of light casting the world into shadows and more shadows. The lake glistens like a mirror reflecting the stars and near the edge was the Fool. He's gotten a bonfire going and is standing besides it watching the flames flicker ( Read more... )

"What is this that you are cooking? Tofu?" She sniffs at the bag of marshmallows.

She can be unintentionally stealthy sometimes.

"Oh well, I will have to try it some other time." That marshmallow is taking too long, so she moves it closer to the bottom of the fire, but away from the flames.

"Yes. Have you figured out how to explode rocks better yet?"

The Fool's marshmallow has turned into cinders. He gives a sigh and gets another one.

"No, to tell the truth, I was using magic rocks because I can stand closer to the explosion without getting hurt. The real ones stay real for far too long."

The marshmallow she was roasting slides off the stick and into the fire. Oops.

The Fool giggles at the marshmallow and offers her another one.

"Thanks." Unlike making real rocks explode, there is no harm in trying to get a marshmallow to cook right. It's not like she's wasting any real time learning to cook something she can only get here. She's wasting Millitime.
