Lake near the shore, night

There is a mermaid sitting on a rock near the lake shore, tail fin in the water, naked, scaly back turned to the bar building, face turned towards the moon.

Perhaps she is really in a pensive mood.

Perhaps she is, casually, waiting for prey.

Perhaps the rather naked pale woman doing a lazy backstroke is prey?

Tamara slides into the water, coming closer quickly with noiseless strokes of her tail fin.

Interesting.

That one seems to be female...

Yes, she does: laying back, floating in the water..

"Hello." Very sharp vampire senses.

"Hello," Tamara says, slowing down her progress, but not stopping altogether.

"You're a girl! We don't often to see human girls on the seas."

Much less taste them.

"Oh I know a bit of a drowned young lass, who's been in the water since time could pass. She plays with the dolphins, she plays with the sharks and she lures men to their deaths on a whim and a lark," the Fool sings out to the mermaid near the edge of the lake, but not quite in grabbing distance.

He leans on his walking stick, his shadow flickering in the moonlight and his amber eyes well visible despite his face being cast in shadow. He likes the night and the moonlight, it's when people are afraid to go out and when fools often venture.

"A song!" she says, turning around delighted. "I love songs! Do you know more?"

There's a smile from the Fool and a bowing tip of his hat. "I do know more songs, indeed." His eyes sparkle as he says this. "Would you like to hear more?"

"Oh yes," she says. "I would love to! You are very pretty."

Mel has been looking for a mermaid since her talk with Urq - the lake's become not just something to run and swim perimeters of, but an extension of her patrol.

So when she reaches a rocky rise by the lakeshore, and spies the half-fish lady on the rock, she figures that's it.

She doesn't call out while stripping of clothes and weaponry. But the splash when she dives in isn't exactly subtle.

Tamara turns to look at where the splash was. Something is swimming towards her.

Another female, it seems. Nice!

Mel is nice, that's true.

She catches her eye when swimming, and grins briefly before finishing the distance to the rock, when she hauls herself out.

"Hi."

[areyoumyjolly]

"Hello," Tamara says, sweetly. "You're pretty! I like your hair. Parts are all purple."

For all she knows, that is a natural variation in some female humans.
