Grey hair and a number of facial scars aside, the short (5'3") Korean-looking girl in the dark green jumpsuit looks like she's about twenty at most as she peers up at the board. "Okay," she says hesitantly, "I think I'm missing something here. What makes beer domestic? Are the plants involved grown on farms instead of gathered in the wild or something?"

"Oh, I got kidnapped by a warship full of these little green aliens with no hair and three fingers on each hand and by the time I woke up in a holding cell they'd taken all my stuff apart, including the Gauss rifle and the Chinese stealth suit," Ellen says with a scowl. "There wasn't enough left to put back together. Not that I didn't get some nice guns on the way out of the ship anyway but I really liked that rifle."

"Fuckers," Lawton says, with feeling.

He really cares about guns. "Any way to get a replacement?"

"Unfortunately no," Ellen says. "Not that I know of. There isn't another one anywhere in the Capital Wasteland- unless the Outcasts have one, and frankly, they're jerks and I don't want to deal with them ever again. At least I've got a good plasma rifle, but I'll tell you, if I ever see a Gauss weapon again, I'm going after it."

After a moment she adds, "The aliens are all dead anyway. Two ships' worth of them. For other reasons, but still."

Lawton glances at her with something like approval. "Wouldn't expect anything less than that."

"I don't like being kidnapped," Ellen says.

She seems to think that's enough.

His closest experience has been taken out of jail with an explosive chip in his skull.

"Right now I just want to know where they got the extra spleen I now seem to have," Ellen says. "They apparently made some changes while I was up there."

It could've been worse. She knows that. But STILL.

"Maybe they grew it out of your pancreas or some shit like that."

He's heard weirder.

"That would actually be a relief. Then it'd at least be mine."

"Ain't sayong I'd care, if it were me," Lawton muses. "I'd probably figure the spleen does a godo job and it's good to have a spare if one gets a bullet.

"But if it was me, and I did care, I'd find one of the doctors to do some tests on it. Find out where it came from and if it was mine."

Ellen nods. "It works," she says, "and I had one of the doctors confirm it. Never got it tested though. Maybe before I go back this time- I've got another mission and I don't know how long it'll take."

"You too, huh? Gonna be able to handle it on your own this time?"

"I think so," Ellen says. "This one's a case of infiltrating a base through old subway tunnels. Not so many deathclaws. Probably just ghouls."

"Sounds like fun," he replies. "Have a good one."

"Thanks," Ellen says. "I'll let you know if I wind up with any interesting new weapons."
