She looks surprisingly clean today, if a touch damp. Her hair is still hanging in wet ropes around her shoulders, and her normal clothes are hanging from one of the blades of her bike's propellers to dry. She wears a rare look of

Annabelle is heading back toward the Bar from sword practice when she catches sight of KK. She grins at the sight, bemused. (Probably because she recognizes the shirt.)

"Hey," she calls, heading over. "Haven't seen you in a while."
She's in shorts and a tank top herself, in concession to her workout and the temperature. Her upper left arm bears scars that look, well, like something with way too many rows of teeth tried to take her arm off at some point in the past.

"I had a bit put by, before," Annabelle explains. "It seems Bar can still access my accounts, despite everything." Including, you know, being DEAD.

"Besides, I'd feel odd taking money from people who are in straights that dire." Which may mean she's a little mental, depending on your point of view.

"It's not really fair for you to be charged, since you don't have much choice about being here in the first place."

Annabelle blinks at that, then her expression takes on a tinge of dark humor. "Oh, I can leave any time I want to. It's just that there'd be no coming back from whatever would be waiting for me on the other side of the door."

"I wasn't inclined to go and find out when I first arrived, and I sure as HELL am not tempted to now."

"Nasty trick to play on someone, isn't it?"

She finger-combs her damp hair to help it dry.

"Though, if you're not sure if there's anything after this, or you're afraid of hell, I guess you'd pay anything, right?"

"Perhaps. I've always suspected the Landlord, if he, she, or it exists, has a nasty sense of humor."

"I don't mind so much, though," she adds with a soft smile. "So far, Milliways has been a hell of a lot better than any afterlife I would have figured on." Connor being far and away the biggest improvement, although being able to go and kick ass in entirely new worlds is also pretty damn awesome.

"It's true then...no one knows who or what runs this place?"

It's rather creepy, to her way of thinking.

"Not that I've ever heard," Annabelle says with a nod. "Nobody knows who built the place, or why. It just...is."

"And yet there's a bartender or two, a sentient actual Bar and magic or something I sure has hell can't explain holding it all together. I guess that people really will accept almost anything that doesn't make them unbearably uncomfortable."

"That does seem to be a common theme," Annabelle agrees. "On the other hand, this place isn't all THAT weird, compared to some worlds."

Seriously. Ray Stantz's world is bugnuts.

"I've met vampires and such here, but never gone to anyone else's world. Mine's fucked up enough, I don't need to be going and fucking up anyone else's."

Annabelle peers at KK. "Hm. You don't look like a walking disaster to ME," she quips.

"Just ask Connor; he'll set you straight."

KK's plenty capable of causing a lot of trouble in a short amount of time.

So is Annabelle, although she's generally causing trouble on purpose.

"Who says I haven't?" Annabelle asks, grinning. She's teasing, at least a little.

She smirks and teases right back.

"He usually looks to stunned by his good fortune when you're around to be thinking about the kind of trouble I can get into."

Annabelle may be slightly smug at that. Hey, she's only human. "It's probably just as well. He's got enough to deal with worrying about the trouble I can get into."

Ask her about the time she almost got hit by a nuclear bomb! Or the SECOND time she almost got hit by a nuclear bomb.
