If you haven’t seen Sam Linnfer about in the past few months, this is ABSOLUTELY simply because you haven’t been paying attention and definitely not because his mun has been flakier than that one Cadbury’s chocolate bar.

He is a very busy guy, being Bound and all! Really! I swear!

Similarly, Jack has been around.

Not Bound, as it happens, but definitely in-and out.

Okay, more out than in.

But it's something.

And right now, he's in! He's staring intently at Sam staring at the door, because grim focus has to be witnessed to be properly dramatic.

Sam is paying a resounding lack of attention to certain hot not!American captains, annoyingly.

Be fair, though, he hasn't seen that thing in about two years. It has to be something special for him not to be paying attention to Jack.

Jack's thoughts exactly!

But seriously, it's uncommon enough that Jack eventually breaks off his staring in order to slide closer along the bar; eyes following Sam's, then tracking back to his friend's face.

"Door?" he asks, after a suitable pause.

Blink. Blink.

Sam finally looks at Jack. "Uh. Yeah."

To say he's wanted to leave would be ... something of an understatement.

"Very pretty." Guppy comments, nodding at the cupcake. "Congratulations."

"Hmm?"

Sam is not paying attention, particularly. It is a Thing.

"Your cake. I was assuming birthday or milliversary." Guppy follows Sam's gaze. "You just got unbound?"

Simply, "Yes."

He has a door.

Cal has also totally been around all this time. Just in a very - unobtrusive kind of way.

At this particular moment, he's coming in from out back, breathless from the run that is somewhat less daily than it used to be. He's still in shape for it (better shape than he should be, though he doesn't know that), he just doesn't seem to have time for it quite so often anymore.

He knows, the second he lays eyes on Sam, exactly what's going on. He's done that same stare himself, after all.

After a startled second or two, he makes a beeline in Sam's direction, smiling.

"Hey."

Blink. Blink. Sam is ... unusually distracted, as well he might be. He smiles when he sees Cal, though.

"Oh, hey."

He gets a kiss, right?

Cal doesn't blame him a bit for being distracted, under the circumstances.

He definitely gets a kiss, though.

"About damn time," he says, with a glance toward the Door.

Sam smiles, wryly. "You're telling me."

But Atton will kill him if he goes through without him.

This doesn't make bolting through it much less tempting.
