When the napkin pops up along with his ouzo, Orpheus smiles. "I'd be honored."

A few minutes later, there's a hastily scrawled message on the specials board:

Specials

1/2 off your drink for a song
(Free drinks for the night if it's better than mine)

[ooc: Very late, but open for the next couple hours and slowtimes after that.]

happy hour, thalia grace, elrond, orpheus

And in one of those strange coincidences that are Milliways' signature, Thalia comes down for dinner with her electric guitar in hand. She spots the man behind the bar, glances at the specials board and with a grin starts into the opening cords of one of her favorite songs.

Granted there's no amp and she's still learning but it is a simple enough song.

[OOC-I'm actually about to head to bed myself so if insta-slow isn't okay feel free to ignore.]

Orpheus smiles as she approaches, leaning against the bar to listen. (His own guitar is resting against the counter, safely tucked where it's not likely to be jostled too much.)

[ooc: No problem. Insta-slow works for me. :)]

Encouraged and nervous by his attention she continues...
I'm having trouble trying to sleep
I'm counting sheep but running out
As time ticks by
And still I try
No rest for crosstops in my mind

Her voice is a tad flat and the key slightly off as she's trying to mimic Billy Joe's voice instead of using her own but it's not too bad. Assuming Orpheus does nothing to stop her she'll stop with Brain Stew and not jump into Jaded like they do on the radio.

He lets her play out the entire song and even applauds lightly when she finishes. "What can I get for you?"

Elrond sees the sign and smiles. He could probably do with a mug of tea and this is too good to pass up. People don't sing as much here as he is used to.

He nods in greeting to the one tending the Bar and then he begins to sing. It's a hymn to the Star-Kindler and he effortlessly lets his voice soar as he sings her praise.

Orpheus leans back against the counter behind him to listen, a smile on his face. It's not a style he hears much, but he certainly enjoys it.

Once Elrond is done, he bows his head and then he looks back up at the Man behind the Bar. Smiling. "I think I would like a mug of tea, please."

"You're quite the gifted musician," Orpheus says, smiling in return, and sets about boiling some water. "Any preference as to blend?"
