While Jim isn't sure that this is the best way to honor Abraham Lincoln, he is just glad that someone else remembered what the day is.

"I don't know if President Lincoln would have ordered any of those. Then again, I don't know if he was much on drinking one way or the other."

"If he wasn't at the beginning of the Civil War, he probably would have been afterward," Munch replies. "I don't think anyone would have blamed him."

"No, but I think he tended to throw himself into his job so absolutely that he wouldn't have had the time for a drink, let alone several.

"Besides, I think he was also content to let Grant drink for both of them. What was it Lincoln said about wanting to know the brand of Grant's whisky so he could give it the other generals?" Yes, Jim expects other people to know about that.
